Ok guys and gals the big announcement you have all been waiting for !!!!!!!!
It is 2016 time to start talking about this years Barbie tournament. It will be in June or July I haven't decided yet. I only propose 1 rule change this year and that is you can use any weight line you want.
Any other suggestions ?
Let's make this the year we break the 100lb mark with a kiddie pole

YES - I am in.   Can't do any worse than last year.   My Barbie failed on first fish - so gonna have to do something a bit more butch.   Maybe IronMan.   In any case I'll be there if the timing is good!

Sounds like fun, hopefully weather will allow us to fish both days this time.
Fishing relaxes me. It's like yoga except I get to kill something.

out of curiosity, why the unlimited line weight. I don't mind either way. I was thinking about going down in line weight.  think it's a trade off between breaking and how much line you have. but at some point it becomes hand-lining  AND dangerous with heavy braid. I'm good with any set of rules though. always fun!

The line rule is because I want to use a heavier leader I got sawed off last year at the leader we can keep it at 55 lbs on the main if you want but I think heavier leader wouldn't hurt.

mmm good point.   I think I had 30b loaded to get more depth, but having a leader of the higher mono would have been great for landing fish too - I was worried about that thin 30# braid tearing me up at the Kayak.   I'd be quite happy with a 50 or 55# mainline limit, and allow a heavy leader.

Since Barbie was such a let down last year, Tinkerbell and Olaf are standing by for action.
