Think I'll head to Beaver Lake.  Have never had much luck there with Rainbow but there's been a lot of trout plants there this year.   Heck, may even head there Wednesday before I drop the turkey in the brining bucket...

I was giving it a hard think but have planned to run back down to Silver Lake Friday AM for another onslaught of crappie, sunfish and perch with a friend and then off to their place in Ocean Park.  We'll switch gear and head down to the jetty at Ilwaco with crab snares later Friday PM and Saturday to try to better his last weekend catch of 6 with some of his friends.
Keep Silver Lake in mind, it's lots different than pulling salmon or even trout, but longer that 15-30 seconds between fish last time I was there meant my jig got hung up in the cast.  It's about 2 hours and can be fished in any wind due to the canals.

Where do you launch?  A quick look at the map looks like a bunch of private stuff.
Kayaking without wearing a PFD is like drunk driving.  You can get away with it for a while, but eventually someone dies.

If you're talking about Silver Lake, I've launch at Streeters and paddled 1/2 back through the canal.  This time since it's a quick trip that's extending to Ilwaco for crabbing, we might just pay Silver Cove's $16 per car fee and fish from the bank.  You can cast across the canal and bank guys were doing as well as me.  This is a Friday night fish and crab fry run vs kayak fishing, but in the yak it's a hoot especially with new fisherman.  In the yak, a cast of 3-4 feet is plenty.  Next time in the yak I'm bringing a bamboo cane pole from the back yard.  Old school.

I got a paddling suit today and am thinking of having my first test of it being down at Silver Lake on Friday if the weather isn't completely terrible. It's 2.5 hours away, but it would be worth it to catch 100+ fish in a day. Who else is heading down? It would be great to meet some of you in person.

Dave (Deptrai), curious just where you were fishing and with what bait?  If you look at the map above, were you by the end of the white line by Silver Cove resort or in a different area?
I had used a 1/32-1/8 white or red jig.  This time I'm going to use a long shank small hooks and use thin white Gulp, some worms and/or similar jigs.  Based on my last trip i'd think a small tip of white yarn would work as well.

Jason, a friend and I are going down Friday morning.  I suspect we'll get there about 9 AM as it's a 2+ hour drive for us as well.  We're planning on fishing several hours from shore off the bank Silver Cove.  He's bringing a 4 man raft we can use if the fish aren't at the top of the white line. We'll be leaving about noon to continue on down to Ilawaco to try snaring crab from the Jetty.  We'll be staying at Ocean Park through Sunday morning.  I'll give you a PM with my phone number.

Thanks for the update. It really is a unique fishery. I grew up on a lake in WI and fishing here was almost a flashback. The fish aren’t big, you have to be willing to work to fillet them or head and scale them.  I believe it helps the quality of the fish to remove smaller ones when there are this many. That’s what I tell my wife when she asks if I’m filleting the fish or bait. That said, when fried in butter with light panco flakes, she can eat her share being from WI as well.  I wish I had known about this lake earlier. Our two hour drive is on the way to another adventure, casting crab snares off the Ilwaco jetty in the surf.
Fun making up crab snares.
