Spent my day trying to make the large transducer from my Garmin 45cv fit in my Lowrance scupper mount/plate and this is what I've come up with. To help keep it from moving/vibrating/shifting I was wondering if I could add some marine goop and how that would affect transducer function and performance. Even a couple of "tracks" of goop for the transducer to sit between. What do you think I could get away with while keeping it working at it's fullest capacity?

I think solid goop (no air bubbles) would be better than beads. I used goop on a shoot through the hull installation at an uneven keel line and it did fine.

GOOP along the side won't affect anything, other than possibly side scan if you have bubbles in the GOOP.

Can you drill a few holes in the Hobie mount and run some Zipties around the puck and pull it tight?  Have the Ziptie heads land along the sides so they don't interfere with mounting or cause water drag underneath.

I like the zip tie idea; just did it now and it's sitting tight and solid. Good suggestion Insayn.

Post a followup pic with the Zipties for the next guy, if you will?

Here you go, that's the screen pedestal for the fish finder propping up my little job. Just two holes drilled and one zap strap to keep it in place. I didn't want any more holes and straps running underneath. All it will take is one careless beaching to destroy that zap strap.
