We need some volunteers for our annual HOW Nehalem salmon campout that is coming up September 8-9. It's held on private property so camping is free, and we will provide chow. There's ample room and access for RVs, campers, tents, etc.

We are welcome to come down Friday afternoon (Sept. 7th) and set up camp/fish/chill, but we are on our own for dinner. The actual HOW event will begin Saturday morning and we'll wrap it up Sunday afternoon.

More details will follow soon, but I wanted to throw it out there so people can get it on their calendars.

Thanks,
Anthony

Edit: I'm getting word from our friends at Operation Healing that help coordinate this event that TACOS are on tap for dinner Friday evening.

I'd really like to do this volunteer event, so please put me on the list.  I have a Ford Van that I camp in, so just need a flat place to park.

I'm happy to announce that this event is now a Co-event between Portland and the North Oregon Coast chapter (thanks for the invite Anthony).  That means 20 boats to fill between our two chapters so let's make sure we have the volunteers needed to help both on and off the water.  This should be a great weekend of fishing and camping so if you're free that weekend make sure you post up if you can come and help out.

We'll see you out there!

We have 16 21 of the 20 kayaks currently booked. Registration for the event is closed.

We need some on the water volunteers to help us.

With 21 participants signed up for this event we really need some volunteers.  Even if you can't stay the whole time, if you can only come for a day we could use your help.  Let's make sure this event goes off without a hitch.

There was one guy that double booked, so we are down to 18. But yes we could use some help making sure folks have their bobber stops set correctly so their bait stays down in La zona de la muerte.

I have the CCA banquet that evening, but I may be able to come out the night before, help in the morning as long as I am on the road by 2pm.

Figured I would bump this up one last time before we finish the last minute shopping and get loaded up. If anyone knows any veterans or first responders that would like to attend we had a couple of last minute cancelations and that means there's a couple of kayaks left.

I might be able to make it up on Sunday to help load out, and fish a little. Good luck! I hope the event goes well! You do an amazing job at every event that I have been to, and I am sure this one will be great as well.

This picture says so much without saying a word!  The rainbow splash of color that only appears in the midst of a storm, The Vietnam Veteran, Ed. The retired law enforcement, Peter.  The wives/ladies that are just in the proximity.  The empty chair with a stars and stripes!

Yeah, it was a great event !!   Thanks Heroes!!
