Yes, it's a week away, but I haven't been on the ocean in months, so I'm optimistic.

Forecast is showing some nice conditions next weekend. If things hold, I will go out of PC Friday 2/2 if the wind looks ok. Otherwise I'll wait until the weekend proper.

Anyone else itching to get out? Hopefully this forecast holds, it would be good to see some familiar faces. Hiking around catching dark coho has been successful and insightful, but I have some new ling jigs to get some tooth marks on.

I'm not going to prep my saltwater gear unless that forecast holds into Friday.  But if the stars align, I'll make a run to Depoe Bay to pull on some bottomfish.  This steelhead season has been a grind for me so far, so the thought of multiple hookups and big bites in one day is too tempting to pass up.

There's a really big front out to sea blowing 60 knot winds and they don't yet know what it'll do, it's February in the PNW, any forecast along the coast is good for three hours at most...  Good luck - and I don't mean that to be snarky.  I'm jealous of folks who can get out early.
I expected the worst, but it was worse than I expected...

It looks too good to be true, for sure, but I will definitely be at either PC or DB Saturday if it stays decent.

I'm watching next Saturday and thinking of launching out of Sunset Bay to fish Simpson Reef, provided the swell forecast holds or improves....

The window is still there, and on multiple forecast sites.

Surely I'm not the only one gaining excitement out of seeing this  ::).

I plan on fishing Saturday. Leaning towards depoe bay. I need to get to know depoe bay better as it tends to be more fishable on bumpier days.

Looks like I’ve settled on Depoe. Will be launching Saturday afternoon 1 p.m. ish then again Sunday morning around sunrise. I reckon I’ll see some other folks out as well with the weekend looking so good.

Am I reading it wrong, because it does not look very good to me.  6 am - Primary 3.5 at 8 plus secondary 2.5 at 8 adds up to be 6 feet at 8 seconds, unless my math is wrong.  :dontknow:

You forgot to devide by the wish factor and subtract the time since they fished!

I read it the same way,  looking kind of "sporty" at this point for Pacific City.
"A venturesome minority will always be eager to get off on their own,
and no obstacle should be placed in their path;
let them take risk, for God sake, let them get lost, sun burnt, stranded, drowned,
eaten by bears, buried alive under avalanches -
that is the right and privilege of any free American."
--Edward Abbey--
