Forecast looked like it transitioned from 7 second period to 17 seconds in the afternoon so we launched around 12:30.  Several kayakers were already in or on the way in.  Most that I saw had limits of lings, but not many black rockfish.  That was the same story for Brian and I.  I landed 5 lings, 2 large cabezon (released) and three black rockfish in 3 hours.  We went north.  Around 3:30 it started getting windy and we headed in.  It was nice not to have to wait in line at the cleaning station.

My lings were 23"-24", but Brian had a couple of larger models.  I had one slightly larger ling, but it had some type of lice crawling all over it so I released it.  It felt great to get on the water again and I'm looking forward to the next weather opportunity.

I've driven past but never fished there.  I'm assuming this is the slot you're referencing?  Looks like coming in on a flood tide is a good idea?  I'm guessing going through on an outgoing tide into the wind would be as exciting as just getting through the slot?
