I've been toying around with lure making with the 3D printer. Here's a picture of the concept model for some jigs.

I've used Sketchup for a lot of years to design prints.  There is a plugin you can download to convert the sketchup format to a printable format.

Actually what I want to design is the other end of that gear, the female end that bolts onto the piece you have above, so it will fit onto that fitting.

Something like this...

No_Oil_Needed, That's the part I'm looking for.  Your design looks great.  You make it look easy, where I'm sure it's really complicated work.  I found out that Little Cos has access to some pretty awesome CAD software and 3D printers at the Colorado School of Mines.  I dropped him off last week for year 2.  I'm going to put him on this project and see what he comes up with.

Ideally, a mold would be best, as this project will need to have the same strength as the other Scotty components.

Thanks for the help.

Haven't seen OnShape mentioned here for geometry generation. It's literally professional design software available for free use by amateurs. The learning curve is pretty shallow and well documented by the developers on YouTube. I can't recommend it more, unless you're already proficient on a platform you already own. It's a modern application from the ground up, and they were nice enough to share with us mortals for free. 3d file export once you're done is literally 2 clicks.
