Point Defiance Blackmouth (sorta)

Jigging, 160ft of water. Prolly not a blackmouth as it was 32.5" and started developing eggs. Maybe a white river springer, I'll try to figure it out this week.

Less people than the summer time. I upgraded to a revo from a 16' tarpon I was using since 2009 because I got tired of having to set my rod down to make adjustment paddle strokes while jigging. They're more tactile than a powerboat, even with an electric motor. You made a good choice.

Indeed a springer.  Nice going!!  Were you on "the Hump"  Time of the tide the fish was caught??

I was 300yards towards the Point from Owens, where the boats were at. Fish was likely not a springer, I looked up releases and nearly all marked springers in the south sound have a 100% tag rate. I wanded the fish and no tag, so likely a Puyallup or Nisqually Fall fish.

Great fish workhard! I had to bail on making my coast trip this week but I think an early morning Tacoma trip would do ok at cheering me up for missing this weather out there. How were the seals and were any of their big brothers around?
