Anyone been hitting the sound recently? Looking at reports the coho are starting to ramp up, I've been fishing off the dock at Edmonds and sounds like the king's are starting to show up as well. Gonna be fishing point Edwards, Wells, and over at Kingston soon in the yak, hopefully I'll spill some salmon blood on it this year 😁

Looking at heading out myself after hearing good reports but not as far north. Since our fishery mismanagers are closing my home portion of the sound to weekday fishing the 17th, I'm thinking I'll try to make a trip this Sunday. My work rotation won't give me 'normal' weekends off again until mid August so Sunday will be the last day I get to fish MA11 again for quite a while. Only issue is the tide is going to be completely against me launching from Owens...
Still looking for that baptism by salmon blood for my Revo.
They might sound ill advised, but when I tell folks of my exploits, it's rare I don't find them smiling

I've been out in area 10 around Edmonds a few times. Easy limit of resident coho on 6/23. 0 for 1 on 6/30. No takedowns at all on the 4th. Lost 2 at the boat 7/8.

The coho are generally quite small, but getting bigger every day. The second fish I lost on the 8th had some size and may have been a blackmouth, although it acted like a coho, running straight at the boat and jumping all over the place until it came off.

There was a harbor seal treading water about 20 feet from me when the first fish came off. He seemed unimpressed with my fish landing skills.

Lots of life out there. I marked fish and bait all over the place from 100-500FOW all through the water column.

Planning on launching at the dog park by Edwards point on Thursday to try my luck with the salmon God's lol hopefully I'll have as good of luck as I heard people having on the 16th. Mostly gonna pull chocked herring behind a flasher, but might also run spoons or hootchies behind dodgers... Any additional thoughts or suggestions are welcomed. Maybe I'll see some other yakers out there, should be a decent time just hopefully it's not super windy

Nice tide...coho are fun on light gear...If you have some 2-3 ounce jigs, sometimes a quick drop and fast retrieve  most of the way back up (rather than a few turns or pole lifts) will get a hit.  On the jigs, if you bend the front and rear eye over, run the line through them and use a trailing hook like you would for herring you might have a little easier time getting them to the net.

Good luck...thinking it over...

The wife and I were beach fishing Sunday over at Point No Point, enjoying that -3 ft tide...  Saw a grand total of zero fish, and very few boats out there.  They probably didn't want to put up with those rippin' currents that day!  But it was a fun day in the sunshine and sand between my toes.  :)
Junk Jigs "BEST USE OF ACTUAL JUNK" category - "That tape should have been a prized possession and not junk. That will be a collectors item in 30 years!” & “There sure is a lot of junk in there.”

yeah took the gf and her kids to Edmonds Beach for that they thought it was amazing, waded out and saw big jellyfish and grabbed a couple of crabs to show her daughter, it was a blast I've always loved going to see the big minus tides.
