So, I am trying to do some routine maintenance on my propel drive, and having a hard time of it. I have followed all of the videos posted on Native's website on how to assemble/disassemble the drive, but I can't get the upper housings to come loose. They will unscrew a ways, but then I can't pull them any further.  I am not sure if this is because it is an older drive (2013) and all the videos show the updated 2015 drive.

Any other native owners out there that have any insight?

Thanks!

Crank arms were off.  Got it sorted. It was just really rusted and it took some elbow grease and WD40.

Good to hear, check everything over real good, I just stripped a couple teeth off my upper transmission gears in the upper unit, I’m guessing it was getting worn out as it’s 8 years old. Also great it well, I’m actually considering filling up the cavity to 80-90% with lithium grease to prevent any moisture from getting in.

I purchased a new upper transmission, so now everything is shiny new and packed with grease. Should be good for a while.
