Hey all.  Relatively newly retired and looking to spend some time out camping and fishing the big salt now that my wife has recovered from knee replacement. I see a lot of reports with good catches from the Westport side, and there are obviously places to camp nearby. There’s a nice campground right on the beach up on the Ocean Shores side, where I could launch right by the semi-submerged jetty remnants by Damon Point.  My question is whether one side is really better fishing, or is it more popularity and being well-known?

I’m planning a trip out there for a few days sometime soon, no dates picked yet...

there was a discussion thread probably a couple of years ago about launching by the sewage treatment plant.  Here's a map of the area.  Do a  search for that and you will likely come up with some intel on the fishing that side.

Yup. That’s one of the reasons I wanna try that north side.  The Quinalt nation runs the RV park on the other end of that stretch of jetty, and I have confirmed they take tent campers too. Be nice and convenient that way since they’ve got their own beach too.
