Hi everyone, I'm looking for a kayak fishing guide for the summer of 2010, in Ketchikan, Alaska. We run daily half day trips locally, mostly for cruise ship passengers. Need someone to take over the kayak fishing trips. Everything is in place and ready to go, just need somebody to fill my shoes while I run eco-tours and other aspects of the business.

Ideally looking for someone who has more of an interest than just a summer job, but if not that's ok too. Housing can be included, but you'll need your own transportation. The season is May through Sept, though things do taper off after August.

You do need to know how to fish, but the main skills needed are people skills. You'll deal with a lot of variety of people in a variety of water conditions and it does take some special skills to read every person and keep everyone together and happy. We fish inside salt water, mostly bottom fishing, with some mooching/trolling for salmon. Its a great tour that needs a great guide. We're Alaska's original kayak fishing tour company, with an excellent track record. Long term potential for someone looking for permanent relocation.

Please email or call for more info. Thanks for reading!

If I wasn't married with two small children and didn't have a steady job I'd be all over this.   Good luck finding someone Howard.
