Overall, it was another great trip to Alaska.  We got lucky with the weather and the orca experience.  I can't get enough of the place!!!

Incredibly good timing, Allen! You got up here for probably the only nice weather we've had all summer. Great pictures, I'm glad you had a good trip. I'm just sorry that our fishing has been off this year. Maybe next trip it will be better for you.

I was slaying razor clams at Deep Creek that weekend, and the weather on the Homer side wasn't quite as good, but I did get my boat in the water. I didn't catch anything but a sub-legal ling that I had to throw back, but at least we got clams!

So they tell me!!!  The day we arrived, it was raining, then completely cleared up for our 3 days on the water.  Then on the day driving up to Talkeetna, it rained again.  Only for it to clear up for our 3 days up in Denali.  Then on the way back to Anchorage it rained yet again.  We couldn't have timed it any better than that.

Polepole,

Outstanding!  I'm speachless.  What a cool and scenic trip with some awesome photos!  Glad to hear your going to Denali in 2010.  It was my 30 year "early" mid-life crisis.  Be sure to stop at the Latitude 63 Bar and Grill for your well earned Steak and Denali Ale after the climb in Talkeetna.  When I first saw Denali in 1990 I decided I have to get on top.

I had dinner at Latitude 63 when we passed through Talkeetna.  I've been there many times.  A good friend of mine is from there.  He's going to climb Denali with me.

He only pulled himself away temporarily.  In fact, Allen is up in Alaska right now. He left the girl friend behind and is on a hard core kayak fishing trip this time.  That lucky bastard.

Having the GF along must have been like having ants in your pants with the need to get out and just Fish, Fish, Fish-- no wonder he went back.  And no wonder I still don't have my NWKA stickers-- too busy  >:D
Hard to blame a guy for having fun!   ;D
