My wife and I are headed to the Oregon coast on Sunday to do some camping and to try and to enjoy some cooler weather. We will be staying at Barview Jetty, I will be bringing along my Hobie and some fishing gear.  I have experience fishing the Washington coast, but this will be my first trip on the Oregon salt. I was hoping that someone would share some insight on the fishing right now in the Tillamook area. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeremy

Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

CK, the crabbing in the bays is really good right now, so bringing a trap or two would be a good idea. The crab are mostly soft, but still worth obtaining an easy limit. It is a little early for salmon fishing in Tillamook Bay, but Nehalem Bay slightly to your north has a good push of fish right now. Bank fishing off of Barview Jetty for rockfish and greenling is pretty fun too using light tackle. The south jetty at Tillamook Bay is a great place to pick up a crab limit while clobbering small rockfish in your kayak.
It is a great time to have a few days in Tillamook Co, so enjoy.

Do not attempt to cross the bar in Tillymuck. Don't even go around the corner.

Had a blast fishing with "CK" dropped two pots in close and two at the jetty, jetty sucked with all dinky and a few girls. I managed a full stringer of bass 6 black and one copper, no ling loving even though I did try. Got a little windy but that helped get us back to our two traps faster for a total of 8 keepers. I sent my catch home with "CK" since I get saltwater fish way more often and have some in the freezer. I'll let Coulee kayaker post up his "catch déjouer". Looking at fishing Wednesday somewhere.
