Typically it takes a few days to a week for the fish to spread out through the lake once stocked.  If fishing before then, stick close to the boat ramps (its where they dump them) and fish shallow.  Usually only a few feet from shore.  Once the fish spread out then they can be caught on the troll down by the dam and around the paddlecraft launch area.  Hope this helps for the next trip.  👍

That's pretty much what we did.  It was a really strange day compared to other stock days when I've been there, especially considering it was supposedly 18k fish.  The weather changed from drizzle and windy to calm and sun breaks and the bite turned off.  I may try it again with fly gear to see if I have better luck.  I've had some pretty good fish after stocking on fly gear.  I opened up one bigger fishes belly and it had about fifteen little twigs in it so maybe they're after bugs. :)
Kayaking without wearing a PFD is like drunk driving.  You can get away with it for a while, but eventually someone dies.

Interesting...  Maybe it has to do with where they came from?  I don't think Desert springs Trout Farm is your typical state run trout stocking facility.  Typically the meat on stockers isn't pink like they are saying on the Facebook post.

The little guy that I had to keep (was bleeding) was rather pink also.  Smoked up really nicely. :)

Good to hear.  Might be some worthwhile tablefair to keep and not just chase for AOTY points.
