Hello! I'm 22 years old and have been fishing in the northwest my whole life. I recently got into kayak fishing thanks to my late Index K1. Somehow I stumbled into a school of kokanee when I was going for trout on lake Washington. So now I'm hooked and sadly so is my K1 (rest in peace you beautiful lug).

First question: I'm looking for a solid 10 ft for under a thousand for fresh and salt water (A Pescador Pro or maybe a Vibe Sea ghost?) any suggestions?

Second question: For the sound it seems like everyone is rocking a dry-suit for safety. Would a thick wet-suit be an okay substitute until I can pony up and invest or should I stick to the lakes until I'm geared up?

Thank you for having me and hopefully I can contribute when I get my small craft sea legs/butt!

Welcome to the board, Fryeguy22.   I am not far from you, here in North Seattle.  Let us know what you end up with for a Yak.

I used a wet suit for my first 1 1/2 years.  But I also never go alone.

I still use a wetsuit, surfers 3/4 mil and also never go alone or in the winter months.
