On sunday Captain Redbeard and I went down to lyle to fish the Klickitat mouth. We got on the water early, got set up and got with the program. I was running a Shortbus super series in Sweet Abby with a Rotten banana superbait with a tuna home brew.  We started seeing a few fish caught by the trolleys and one or 2 by the hover fisherman.I think we were on our second pass,( Lauren correct me if it was our first pass).any way we were trolling back upstream shooting the breeze when my kayak shuttered violently when the fish hit.feeling it never gets old. Lauren was looking at me so he got to see the whole take.the fight wasn't full of thumb burning runs but she did take a few 30-40ft runs.the first of which was towards another boat.the guy was nice and on the ball and got clear in short order.after about a 5 min fight she was in the net. Not bad for the flashers first time in the water. We trolled a few more hrs and saw the bite really die off in the big River so we headed to the Klickitat. Both of us got bumps but nothing to show there.on the way out I smacked my first stump with my drive and bent a rod in my fin.guess that's a reason to put on the longer fins now. Here are some pics.

It was a pleasure fishing with you as always. Thanks for sharing so much knowledge of the area and congrats on a great fish!

By my recollection it was more like the 3rd pass (I think we made at least one full circuit before sunrise?) but either way it happened pretty early. What a beautiful day on the water!
