Its been an option in the back of my mind for many years. 5 years ago I rode down the beach from Anchor River on my wheeler to check out the potential for camping and launching a kayak or raft to get out to the beds. Ran into a problem with a high flood tide up to the Bluff blocking the path further down the beach.  The kelp beds could be a good spot for greenling and black rockfish as well as halibut.

There are some herring spawning in the kelp in April and a few charter boats will take their Spring shakedown cruises to those spots and fish for some very large halibut in 20 feet of water that are targeting the herring. The spawn is already over this year but might be something to consider in the future.
