As the title states, I am tentatively planning on hitting the south wall on friday. Low tide is around 9:45, a little later than i like, but I believe doable.  Also, the possible east wind has me a little hesitant. When the wind is opposite the current flow, jig going one way and yak going the other, it makes fishing tough, especially in a paddle yak.  I will also be finishing a 10 day-  12hr/day --  stretch at work, with 6 more following sat-thurs, so I may "wake" up 4am friday on my one day off and say "no way jose"..... I typically fish solo, but I had so much fun with the large group of guys last time, just wanted to see if anyone else was interested?  (plus, if others commit, it's far more likely I'll end up going.....darn peer pressure :) )   As of right now, looks mostly sunny / partly cloudy out.  If I end up going, probably start casting from the jetty around 630ish, with a 800-815 launch time from the marina.  Btw, typically my best days fishing the bay happen in January....

I can't make this date, but keep posting up when you are going.  I really had a lot of fun last time and would like to join you again.
Being retired, they pay me when I go fishing, therefore I am kind of a professional fisherman.

Will do!  Also, would you be interested in hitting the sound for flat fish ever?  I do that quite often as well. I went about a week ago, just made a post about it on the washington page....

Sounds fun.  I have never targeted flat fish, but I am always open to try something new.

Let me check my wife's schedule.  If she's working then I'm in.  If she's off then I'll be busy with my husbandly duties.  I'll text you and let you know for sure either way.
I sure could use some fishy therapy...

Drysuit, PFD, Boat, peddles, and fishing rod.  That will get you out on the water, the rest is a bonus

The fly rod should do well there.  A light, slow sinking fly should drive the rockfish crazy...  I think I used a 1/4 oz jighead last time.

I'm thinking of heading out tomorrow for my first voyage in Tillamook bay in my new yak (Hobie Compass). I am a newbie kayak angler, and I am hoping you guys can answer a few questions:

How was it today? (Weather forecast looks very favorable for tomorrow)
Looks like you all are fishing the low tide? Is this the preferred tide?
Do you crab near the south jetty while you are fishing?

I imagine these questions have all been answered somewhere in other threads, so thanks for the patience!
