I may be the last guy to find this link but it's worth checking out if you're considering alternatives to haul your yak. Since I got rid of my trusty 2000 vintage kayak hauler and bought a new car I'm trying to avoid scratching it up and wrecking my antique body. Suggestions welcome.

6m:17s -- 6m:27s   Can I get the Roof loading system that includes the guy dead lifting my (outback/revo13) kayak into the rack for me?

How much does the outback weigh?  That low mount point could be handy after an all day paddle.  I can roof top my yak but its definitely more difficult in the evening. :)
Kayaking without wearing a PFD is like drunk driving.  You can get away with it for a while, but eventually someone dies.

I just got one of the Yakima Showdown kayak loaders, which is somewhat similar to the Thule Hullavator shown in the video. The Hullavator has easier strapping since you can use the cradles that stick up, but the Showdown has better lifting and positioning, as the kayak is already in the right position once it's lifted up to roof rack level instead of having to lift and then turn it.

My first time using it was this past Saturday. I was skeptical of how much it would help, and I still had to lift my kayak above waist height. Once I had it on the rack, it was super simple to strap it on there and then easy to lift up into place. It has a quoted weight limit of 80lbs, which is just five pounds over my kayak's weight with no pedal drive in it, but it worked great. The overall rack system including the Showdown was on the expensive side, and would be even more so if paying retail price for everything.
