Nice!

Tried for salmon, but had no luck. Saw a couple of fish hooked from the beach at the cap mouth. There are definitely more fish around compared to a couple of weeks ago. Think I will try the pink apartments area next time.

It was good to meet a few other yakkers on the water today. Looking forward to fishing together again soon.

Hope someone  found some fish.

I will post when I plan to head out again

Thanks for update, I will try again next Saturday or Sunday.
You think you have better chance by pink building? Yesterday most boats where there too... and it's easier with currents. But you will think fish would stay closer to river mouth. I checked yesterday with fish finder at cap river mouth and didn't see any fish at all. Let's hope next weekend will be better.

Hi all,
I will be out on the water this Saturday morning, hopefully from 1st light. My plan is to head west from ambleside and try the pink apartments. I heard thats where the boats were getting fish. Will be good meet up with some fellow kayakers.

A brief fishing report.
Fished Saturday morning at 1st light in front of the pink apartments.  Saw a few fish on the surface, but couldn't get any to bite. Caught some by catch while jigging. The current was running pretty hard so couldn't fish effectively for too long.
Hope the other yakkers on the water managed to get into the fish.

G Day. I have never fished ambleside and was thinking of giving it a go on the incoming tide one of these days. The only thing that's holding me back right now is I don't have a drysuit. I don't have much for saltwater experience save for an outing last year to moutcha bay on the west coast of van island. Im using a hobie outback so im thinking I should be good to go in that respect. Are you guys trolling or jigging? Im setup for both.

Same thing, went out on Saturday, first light to 11 am. Nothing, except one sardine I used right away for bite. Saw a few bent rods ...
Try again this Saturday.

Garrick - you are in red kayak?

I fish out of a grey pompano 120 kayak, by west marine.

Will be away for the 10 days to explore the sunshine coast :)

We should try meet up when I get back?

Did you see any kayaks get into fish?
