I've been asked to give a talk at the Next Adventure Paddle Sports Center later this month.   I gave this talk last year and Next Adventure liked it enough to invite me back.   It's less about kayak fishing and more about my day job as an marine ecologist specializing in invasive species.  So if you own a kayak over 10' long, and want more information on the topic that causes ODFW and the Marine Board make us buy "Invasive Species Prevention Permits", here's your chance to find out more.

This is part of Next Adventure's "Thirsty Thursday" talks co-sponsored by Hopworks Urban Brewery.

https://nextadventure.net/events-classes/detail/view/id/10181/

I'll cover general information about aquatic invasive species (AIS) in Oregon, AIS citizen science opportunities for paddlers, and Japanese tsunami marine debris.

When: November 15th 7:00 pm
Where: Next Adventure Paddle Sports Center
Cost:   FREE

Wow... this is a hot topic.   ::)

For those on the fence about coming to my talk tomorrow night at the Next Adventure Paddle Sports Center...

The name of the series of talks is "Thirsty Thrusdays" and it's sponsored by Hopworks Urban Brewery.  I'm guessing there are legal reasons for not being more explicit.. but I think you can connect the dots.

Invasive species pair very well with various Hopworks beers.  I will be there. Hopefully...

Also, I heard a rumor there is a multiple choice test at the end worth 25 extra AOTY points. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks BSteves for sharing your knowledge on this Thirsty Thursday presentation.  It is unfortunate that I can not attend.

Well that makes 2 years in a row I’ve missed this seminar due to work. I would imagine that if NA could schedule seminars at least 6-8 weeks in advance more people could attend. It’s difficult for me to physically attend the majority of fishing seminars across the PNW, so I always appreciate when they’re recorded for streaming or playback on their social media sites. Thank you again Brian for offering up your time & expertise for our knowledge & entertainment!
