Missed the ferry earlier. Looks like I arrive just after eight. Waiting for the ferry now.

Well, we saved some for you.  Fish were being caught and Gnom lost a keeper at the kayak and netted and released a wild fish.  A fellow I didn't meet in a native propel was getting some action using a downrigger.  I left mine in the car and wish I would have brought it.  Tried with jigs (what gnom was using), shimano's, cut plug herring etc.  Did have something big nail a while jig about 30 feet off the bottom and return DIRECTLY to the bottom into what I suspect was a hole/ rock pile I couldn't move.  I quicky learned I do not need anything stronger than 20 lb braid while fishing in a kayak.  Were I to go again (hope hope) I would troll coyote spoons with scent and try to stay about 70-90 feet deep looping from the tide rip off the point a little outward from the shoreline and try to stay at 2-2.5 mph.

Great day, I think 6 kayakers or so?  Mt. Baker and surrounding mountains were beautifully clear and Rainier was nice in this pic, I think it was gnom or Justin.

Haha .. when there is no wind, the sound is basically a lake.  That's Justin, I don't see my tall orange flag off the back.

I'm sad I had the drag too tight on that first blackmouth, was definitely keeper sized. I forgot to let it off from trolling with the diver. Ah well. The native was fun to catch too. I came home with a couple of smallish flounder as well that I sauteed in butter for dinner.
