Sounds like a great time Roy. I hope Seahorse an I can make it down there this year.
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent

As Baby Cheeses is my witness, I WILL be doing this in August!!! One question, only one fish per category, but as many species as you can catch count toward your total? That truly is an "Angler of the Day."

Yep Fred, It is the largest fish of each species that count toward the total and as many species as you can catch. guess i should clarify that in the description.

See you in August!

Just wanted to throw out some camping options if you are planning to come to the event this year.

You got Sunset State Park campground which, if it is isn't booked solid will be very soon. I checked resrve america, according to them, there is two standard, one standard(full) and 46 tent sites available. Not sure if i trust that so i would hurry and get a spot reserved

http://www.reserveamerica.com/unifSearchResults.do

There is also a group camp that is still available at the end of Cape Arago Hwy. It will hold 25 people and 6 vehicles i believe but not suitable for travel trailers or motorhomes. There is no minumum amount of people to stay here, so if you have a few people that can get together this would be a cost effective way to go. There is no running water, just a couple chemical toilets, fire ring and a few picnic tables. Not resrvable at rseerve america

http://www.oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=reserve.dsp_reserve

There is Bastendorff County Park which is probably getting full also. I just checked and it shows spots available on the website for any type of camping vehicle but i would hurry and reserve something.

http://www.co.coos.or.us/Departments/CoosCountyParks/Bastendorff.aspx

Both  Sunset and Bastendorff are very close to the launch site.

If you want some dual purpose fun there is Riley Ranch. This campground is a few miles north out of town and is a ATV park. So if you want to ride one day while your here this might be a choice for you. It is a 20 minute drive to the launch though.

http://www.co.coos.or.us/Departments/CoosCountyParks/RileyRanch.aspx

If you miss out on a reservation you can stay in the parking lot at the south jetty off Bastendorff rd.  for one night but can probably sneak an extra night in there. I have seen people stay there for a week...There is a bathroom there and that's it. This would be good for those that are self contained or vehicle sleepers.

Think that covers most of the options for camping here within 20 minutes of Sunset Bay.

Hope to see you here, it's gonna be fun!

F,n paypal.....didn't realize when i send out a request for payment for a service i get dinged $1.17 for every $30 payment i get. So, if you request a payment through the email link, the charge will be $31.20 to cover that fee. It would be better just to send it as a personal payment through your paypal account to my paypal so we don't give paypal any more money then we have to. My emai/paypal address is on my profile. Make sure you put your name and screen name if you have one in the comments sections of the paypal payment screen.

Thanks, sorry for the hassle...

We're in!

Three tourneys for us this year, three kayaks possible, good times! Thanks for putting all this together, Roy. Here's hoping for calm seas. Can't wait to be down there with everyone.
