If you've ever fished PC, you've likely shared water, or a cold pint of Pelican, with Gaz.  Not a kayak angler, per se, but a cool cat and fellow board fisherman.

Heeeeey, I know that guy!  I think he's a perfect fit for the e-zine.  Great thinking, bridging the gap between old school and new.

No super cool destinations, no stories of crazy tomfoolery - but the most enjoyable article to date.  I think it's because he's just so down to earth and, nice.

Wow! Talk about flashin back! That name sure sounded familiar, and I dug out my old address book and there was "Gary Gregg" at an Edmonds WA address. I met him here at Westhaven State Park. We were both surfing here that day. As fellow surfers, we exchanged phone #'s etc.
That was so long ago, it may have been before I even moved to Westport in '85, but I'm not sure. I began surfing here in May of '79, after moving back to the mainland from Oahu. But then, it might have been after I moved here. Anyway, I'm sure the purpose was for hooking up to go surfing. His pic looks vaguely familiar, but the man I had met had darker hair!

The one thing that sticks in my mind, is that I recall Gary was low key, had a good sense of humor, and seemed like a really intelligent human being, and someone with whom it would be cool to go on surfari. Glad to see he hasn't changed much, except for the silver hair.

Thanks, fellas.  And many thanks, Lee.  The exploration into the real, sometimes unsponsored, true essence is going to be a reoccuring theme.  There will soon be more of that.

Credit goes to PP for suggesting Gaz; thanks, man.

Cone, let me know if you want me to connect you two.  He's living in Portland, and we've been talking of taking the giant boards out for a Columbia river cruise.

Thanks for the offer, Andy. That had to be in the early 80's when I was still living on Bainbridge Island and driving out here to go surfing. We never did hook up and ride to the beach together, but I saw him here a couple other times.
Ask him if he remembers a "Hawaii Jim" who drove a beater gray '62 VW camper, or maybe my other rig, a red '65 2-dr Vovlo 122S. Sometimes I had a lanky blonde surfer chick with me.

What a fantastic write up. Great job Andy. Jeff is partially responsible for my newfound love of fishing from a kayak. It started one night while browsing for videos when I stumbled across his octopus clip. Thats when I knew my power boating was over. Jeff has also been more than willing to share knowledge, gear recommendations, and answer all of my newbie questions. My hat is off to you good sir.

Another brother interviewed in The Milkcrate.  This week is devoted to Kayak Fishing Radio, and today's offering features our very own, The Nothing.

A couple of yahoos from The Milkcrate somehow managed to make their way onto Chip Gibson's radio show.  Not sure how, but they did.  They seemed to represent us with a dabble of professionalism and tact, so we're not all that unpleased with the outcome.  Check it out...

It's the first streaming offering in the list of streaming, and in our case, steaming, offerings....
