Just getting around to uploading some pics from my Costa Rica trip over Christmas.  I met up with a local guy, Steve Jurries, who I hunted down after seeing some footage from one of Jim Sammons' Kayak Fishing Shows being filmed there.  We got out on the water with Steve one day for kayak fishing without much luck.  Hooked one roosterfish and the drag release went flying off my reel!  A dolphin or a large rooster got away with a live bait I had.

The next day we were going to mother ship it out on a boat but he got sick the night before.  Ended up fishing with the owner of the resort I stayed.  Amazing fishing so close to shore.  Caught several species including several Roosters, African Pompano, Cubera Snapper, Travali and a few others.  All caught drifting live bait - goggle eyes?

Enjoy~

Nice! Ten yrs ago I went and I was all about surfing.  Would love to kayak fish and free dive down there.  You're a lucky man!

I just watched the Silver King Lodge show a couple of days ago. It's good to know that there are other great opportunities for great fish as well as tarpon. Still, the tarpon fishing !!!
