You are right.  I shouldn't be endorsing any one brand.  I'm sure that there are other manufacturers that make a quality polypropylene thong.

I'm a great fan of Aclima products! Aclima is a Norwegian company but sold in many countries worldwide. In contrast to e.g. Smartwool most of their stuff is 100% merino wool. Beside always feeling comfortable - regardless of whether the material is warm, cool, wet or dry - it smells so much nicer after a long day in the kayak. I rarely wash the stuff - just let it hang for an hour or two in the sun - and it feels and smells clean and fresh again.

Under my Kokatat Paddling Angler suit I use the Aclima Coolnet type as inner layer followed by another thin layer of 100% merino wool. On extraordinary coold days I use a third layer of wool. After I realized the advantage of pure wool, I exchanged my cotton + wool-mixed socks with socks made of almost pure wool.

I'm not sure whether Aclima is sold in US, but there is a branch in Canada. Company website:

Greetings,
Dan

Too much wedgie factor when you're considering pedaling long distances.  ;D

Ah, but the polypro is silky smooth...kind of like a dry lubricant. ;D

Fine Ihop, here is the picture.  It was taken after a bout of serious manscaping....in Sweden.
