We will see.  I ordered the V2 part with overnight shipping last night.  If I can get it fixed locally tomorrow (today I am fishing) I'll put the ordered part into my spare parts kit.

Today I'll use the pedal setting I used to get back yesterday.  It's a little tight, but manageable.  I'll probably also bring a bolt and a couple wrenches so if I need to, I can replace the holding pin with a bolt/washers/nut and really hold it all in place.  Since I don't move my pedals around I might make this a permanent change to my mirage drive once I replace the stripped part.

I received the part yesterday, installed it in about 10 minutes, and was on a shake-down cruise an hour later.  (6 rockfish - no lings).  The new part is a plastic-metal-plastic sandwich and I think the fact Hobie changed the design points to a design error that Hobie should cover.  We'll see.  The parts are only $30 so it's no big deal.  I'll be replacing the other all-plastic plate this weekend.

Austin Kayak submitted the part as a warranty item or a manufacturing defect, and got my purchase price refunded.  Shipping I covered.

The following day I bought another V2 at Hobie NW on Lake Union.  The first one they handed me off the parts wall was stripped just like mine.  Obviously someone had mistakenly stuck a returned part on the wall.  No big deal, I noticed it instantly, and it's interesting to know others have had the same issue.  They had to pull one off a new drive and no offer of submitting as a warranty or defect.  Basically, they said the warranty had expired on a 2010 Revo.

If you don't have the V2 metal sandwich parts, you might consider prophylactic replacements.
