My family and I are moving to Lanai.  The wife accepted a job today and I have my choice of jobs at the hotels.  Gonna be selling what I don't  need out here and once I get back I'll do a thorough inventory. Planning on bringing my outback but considering switching to a revo for a little more speed should anyone be looking to trade.

If anyone knows the magic word to get onto the aquahunters forum it would be greatly appreciated. Had a request in for a while with no response. Met a few guys who spearfish outta cobras but I'm a crappy diver.  My eardrums have a habit of rupturing if I don't equalize every 2 feet our so.  Probably something to do with all the tubes I had as a kid.

I know I haven't been the most active member here, preferring to troll through others posts than recount my failed attempts at springer fishing this year, but I have learned a lot from this forum and really appreciate all the knowledge that is shared.  Thanks to all the members who make this site great!

I know the magic word as I am an administrator there.  Ike had a baby recently and is a bit behind in approving signups.  PM me the username and email address of the account you registered there and I'll set you up.

Man, if I were to move to Hawaii, I would be putting in an order for an AI! Hawaii was designed by God just for the AI, I'm sure  ;D
it's better to be lucky than good

Bennicus, what you really need for Lanai is a Hobie Mirage Tandom Island. You know its only an 8 mile sail between the two islands. Also, your closest beach on Maui just happens to be one of my favorite places in the world known as Lahina. The channel between Lanai and Maui islands also has one of the thickest winter migrations of Humbacks in the world. If you get too far off coarse to the south sailing to Maui, you may end up at Makena Beach(at little beach)where on Sunday afternoons "I once discovered" you'll find naked drum circles with 100's of Maui's finest. I once ran into Kareem Abdul Jabbar at this place. "What the hell"  I did live in Maui for a year when I was younger. Tons of fun!

Anyway Benniscus, have fun and enjoy it!

Say Hi to Larry Ellison (Oracle), he just bought 98% of Lanai. Maybe he'll let you set up a fleet of AI and TIs to take the guests out fishing! I hear he's got a small interest in sailing, too. Just watch out for the pitch poles!

Thanks guys.  A Hobie Islands is high on my list of wanted toys.  Along with a surfboard, SUP, ATV, jet ski, and some bow hunting skills.  Friends on Maui say Lanai is boring.  Sounds like the right kind of boring to me.

Hopefully Uncle Larry, as the islanders call him already, keeps the access open and drops some more coin on the place.  People there are cautiously optimistic waiting to see what his plans are.  There is a lot of controversy on the island over a proposed wind farm that would cover the northern third to power Oahu.  Lanai would then normalize electricity rates with Oahu the estimate being a resident would see a 40% reduction in their bill.  Strong push back from residents not employed by the hotels and the environmental impact study is still pending.

Lahaina is a great place with lots to do.  So cool to be snorkling and hear the whales sing.  I'll be riding the ferry every so often through there to make costco runs and catch a movie.  The markets on Lanai have what you need but milk is $9 a gallon.
