The spring loaded button that connects the two halves of my paddle finally wore out.
The spring metal failed at the bend.

Anybody know where to purchase a replacement?

Assuming the manufacturer is uncooperative, I'd head to a hardware store (not HD or Lowes unless there were no other options) and just look for a spring that is around the same diameter.  Then just cut it to length.  Another option would be, if you own any guns, to see if any of those springs will fit, since there's a good chance they'd be stainless steel.  Then get a new one for the gun and use the old one for the paddle.    There's also online sources like Fastenal that you can try.

Sorry, spring is a pretty broad term.  It's spring steel in a diamond shape.
I checked out the Carlisle website but couldn't find it.
Maybe I'll just drop em an email.

Thanks!

I have heard it referred to as a "snap pin" but they are difficult to find.  I've never found them in hardware stores and second the idea of contacting a paddle manufacturer or someplace like Aldercreek or NRS.

edit:  Just remembered a place called Paddlers Supply (www.paddlerssupply.com) if this is the part you are looking for.

We had an EZ up that became not so easy and not so uppie.  I salvaged all those from it because they looked useful.  I just can't remember where I put them.  Find out how much they cost and I will sell you one for a penny less. ;D  Ha! Just kidding.  If I find them, I will snap a photo with measurements to see if they will work for ya.  I think they are in my work vehicle which is 30 miles away so it may be until Monday before I know.

That's exactly the kind of info. I was looking for!  These guys are a wholesaler but they have links to the local retailers they work with.

Craig, I'd still take you up on your offer if it's easy enough to access.   ;D

Spot, if you can score a new Hobie T handle for my broken Hobie paddle, I'll give you the nearly brand new spring out of said broken paddle + $5.
