Last night I wanted to fiddle with some of the GPS buttons on my Cuda 250, and didn't want to stand in the garage, or remove all the wiring so I could sit in my lazy boy.  Soooooo, I still had my fizzled 'ducer out there in the garage waiting to be tossed in the trash.

I cut off the 'ducer cable, shortened the power wire a bit, and crimped on some terminal ends.

Hook up the battery, and plug in the Cuda cord.

Voila, lazy boy user friendly!

I spent 3 hours last night in my Lazy Boy chair fiddling with pages and settings.  I set up and named some maps (Trails) that I can turn on and off if I am at that particular body of water.  Now when I get home from a trip, I don't have to stand over the kayak to look through the map data of where I paddled.

Very cool!

Hey Craig, hope I'm not hijacking your thread, but... do you know if Cuda ducer cables are "tuned"? (I think that's the right term). In other words, would shortening the ducer cable negatively affect the DF's performance?

I think Wali (FFTW) contacted Lowrance/Eagle, and found that the 'ducer is tuned at the puck, not by the length the wire.  He had a bad spot and needed to fix it, and figured shortening the wire while at it.  Maybe he'll ring in and give us an update.
