Title: North Idaho kayak fishing group starting
Post by: Rcrogers on April 12, 2016, 06:14:11 PM: We are going to be putting a group together for north Idaho so that all of us that love fish in our kayaks can get together and fish. With any hope it will become something that will bring many of us that love this sport together to share in good times and many laughs. Men and women both are welcome hopefully this this turns into a large family for all that joins. We are going to be known as north Idaho kayak anglers.

I have also started a group called snake river yak addicts. They are both on facebook, and we hold events at least twice a yr, and have some smaller ones throughout as well. We meet once a month on the water and it has been an awesome experience and gains interest more and more every day!! Hope to meet some of you northern guys sometime!!

Post by: Rcrogers on April 14, 2016, 06:11:00 PM: Yes we will be having tournaments as well as campouts lots of opportunities for the group. We have lake here that give us opportunity to fish bass and Pike one weekend and Chinook salmon the next. Almost every Lake we fish has campgrounds.

What's the time frame on your new yak? And for all members I'm thinking about going out Sunday if whether permit. I'm thinking about doing a little pike fishing they are hitting pretty hard right now. Hooked in to one a week ago that scared the life out of me :o try to jump in my yak. Yes I panic and broke him off >:( but what a fight.

I have only bank fished lake fernan and cda lake.

I want to hit other areas but bank fishing is limited to me because parking, private land, i dont know all the areas, i dont know anyone here yet and bank fishing itself is limited as far as fishing goes. So success from the bank is hit or miss.

I went out to fernan after work last night and saw fish hitting the top of the water all over the place but not so much as a nibble on any of my lures :(

OK Trident at 13'.
FF, Scotty downrigger, I installed a Bassyaks unit that works great, no vibration, pretty fast, and quiet.
Allows putting out gear easy and fun.
And, I have no connection with Bassyaks.
I also have a long 13' OK two person kayak.
It works great set up for one. Very fast kayak.
I have a Kokatat fishing Drysuit that is too small for me.
It's generous in the body but too tite around my neck.
The large suit was huge. Medium fits but...$350.
Never worn. Brand new, mint.
I also donated Art Glass to the Depot Bay, OR derby 2-3 years ago.
The Rock fish Classic?
I have a couple of friends in Ballard who fish Lake Pend Oreille when things 'heat up' here.
Fish on and keep me in the loop.

Post by: reelmccoy on June 12, 2020, 10:24:47 PM: The Group got started but there wasn’t enough interest. IdahoBrit was maintaining a face book page for Idaho Kayakers, but I haven’t seen him in a while.

There are actually lots of Kayak anglers up here but it’s hard to get them together. For my part, with a family and a business I don’t get out as much I used to, but still get out for an early morning fish/paddle on the spokane river once a week or so. Hit me up and we can maybe we can hook up.
