Title: Seeking a kayak
Post by: Crabman on December 12, 2022, 07:05:56 PM
Anybody out there know someone who is tired of the ridiculous idea of non-hands free kayak fishing and wants to sell an Ocean Kayak Trident 13 with vantage seat and tracks?

Yes, but Ocean Kayak doesn't use "Vantage" seats.  They call their new seat the Active Comfort System (ACS) Seat.

PM me if interested in my T13.  I'm not online very often these days.

ADDED: If you're asking about an Ocean Kayak with a lawn-chair style seat, similar to the Vantage seat, that's in the Prowler Big Game, not the Trident.

And if that's what you're after but know someone interested in a T13, send them my way.

Tried sending a PM but it was blocked.  Location, picture, price?

Please.  You forgot to say "please".

It's a 2014 2017 (I'm an idiot), lemongrass color, in extremely good condition with less than average scratches on the bottom, and three modifications: just in front of the cockpit is a Scotty No, 244 flush deck mount - an idea for mounting a GoPro camera I shamelessly stole from Spot, there's a Wilderness Systems thru-hull cable mount under the small plate in front of the cockpit, and a Scotty No. 241 Deck Mount in the front compartment of the Mod pod hatch where I'd mount my fish-finder - but in the event I might ever sell the kayak, I have a complete, never-been-used spare Mod Pod hatch cover for the new owner.

I also have a spare Wilderness Systems thru-hull kit so a person could use the solid insert in that kit to seal the contraption if they don't plan to use a fish-finder, replacement skid plates for the rear part of the keel, and some other bits-and-pieces for it.

As you can see in the picture (from the Ocean Kayak catalog), it has factory-installed tracks alongside the rear well and the cockpit, and a small one between the front hatch and the smaller hatch.  I've never used them but they seem sturdy.  I might have a Scotty gear head for rail mounts - I'll check when I go out to take pictures.

I'll include a Werner Skagit FG paddle - fiberglas and nylon blades on a carbon fiber shaft if you need a paddle.

I'm the original owner of this kayak and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it.  These are fast, stable kayaks - easily the best kayak hull ever designed - and I'd never let go of it if I thought I'd ever again be able to use it.

I live on the South Coast - my location is in my profile if you copy the coordinates and look for them with Google.  We're not terribly far apart.

I'm asking $700 for it.  You can add the Humminbird Helix 5 Chirp DI GPS G4 finder and battery box for an additional $75.  Add $30 if you want me to throw in some landing nets and a McKay crab trap.  $80 more with the C-tug cart (with sand wheels), or all of it - plus whatever else I find for this kayak - for $800.

I'll PM pictures when I have them for you.

These are simply to ensure you received all of the pictures...

That's dirt in the red circle, not a scrape:

I'm shocked that I left it this dirty!  I'll powerwash it if you want it.

That's a beautiful boat Tink!  And to think, they're no longer making these incredible hulls anymore....
