Doing a late September or early October lake Pend Oreille trip targeting Kamloops and Makinaw.
Anyone interested in doing a 3 day 2 night trip (primitive camp). As of now there are 3 boats going.
May the holes in your net be no larger than the fish in it.

kallitype, I think those dates will still be too early. Last year we did the trip the last weekend of September and had no success. As you can see in the photo the water temp was in the 60s and the best fishing is in the low 50s. After some further thought I want to try for about the 2nd week of October.

2-4 oz. jig heads w/ scampis, swimbaits, and grubs. A nice stout rod that can accommodate a 20# ling.... Oh, wait, that's the Pacific City Derby. Might as well go rockfishing eh? ;D

Note on fishing Lake Pend Oreille: Typical gear includes a steelhead or light salmon rod and a reel that holds atleast 300 yds of line.
Terminal tackle is 3" bucktail streamers, spoons, rapalas, etc. Most fish are caught trolling top water down to about 50 feet, its a matter of finding the right temp. Fishing here has been on the decline, but there are still 10-20 pounders to be had if you put in the hours.
