So, where does "north" Idaho start? I'm in Salmon and I am wondering if someone is going to start a south or central Idaho kayak anglers group on Facebook

Last weekend I rolled my kayak up a steep half mile trail to fish a lake in central Idaho that has a 25 fish limit. IDFG wants to reduce the population of rainbows to increase their individual size. I figured I better do my part and go get some. It was lots of fun. I probably caught 30-40 fish and I was surprised to find some up to 14-15". It took me a while to figure out what fly would work but eventually I found it (see picture).

On a side note, has anyone fished Stanley Lake? Have any tips? There are lake trout 20-25 pounds in that lake but I couldn't get them to bite anything in my tackle box.

Here are a couple pictures

Those are really nice fish.  I often fish the big lost, but have never brought my Yak up to the Mackay Reservoir.

A half mile push is a serious push.  But worth it from the pics.
