This is nice. Way more features and several hundred less than an Outback.

For the money this seems like a nice boat, the one thing I am interested in with all these new pedal drives is how simple the are to raise/lower quickly, and how easily the drives can be removed. With this specific kayak the up/down lock seems fairly straight forward and I like that it doesn't take up as much space as some of the other drives out there, further when raised the prop seems to be stowed under the boat which is also nice.

Man,  this man-powered drive race is really heating up.  I want to keep it in my hobie family but this kayak has me on the fence.  The price point along with REI stocking them may be a winning combination.

I may have to sell my 2010 outback for 2017 and get this one for spare. But no more space in my garage...except for that 18' Necky fiberglass sea kayak.  I haven't used that sucker for ages.

My wife thinks fishing is merely guys wandering around like idiots swinging sticks in the air. Many of my trips prove how smart she really is.

Wow! Do I count correctly 4 new pedal drive boats for 2017?

I'm all for competition! Maybe this will drive Hobie to start offering promotions, discounts, or lower prices.

Yep, I hope too. I like this Wilderness Radar, probably it is a time to start collecting money... :)
