Looking for a recommendation - Second kayak for fishing

There are a lot of pedal drive sit-on-top kayaks on the market.  The Revolution and the Outback are excellent kayaks for fishing, and I recommend both of them.  The only disadvantage of those kayaks is that Hobie is way behind practically all other manufacturers in outfitting their kayaks with gear tracks and other accessories for fishing.  You have to add all of that gear yourself.  Fishing kayaks from almost all other manufacturers come outfitted with that stuff from the factory.

Update:  Since I posted that, the 2019 Outback has come out.  It has major changes from the models in prior years, and now comes very nicely outfitted for kayak fishing.

I have been in same boat, and was about to buy a Hobie compass. Was told the 2019 Outbacks had big changes, and after looking at videos it addresses all of my needs and is a slimmed-down and lighter boat. I reserved one today for Oct 1 delivery. You should check it out before pulling the trigger.

I don't know offhand what the weight difference between the Tarpon 120 and 140 is but if storage and transportation length are not concerns I highly recommend the 140 over the 120 since one of your considerations is speed. I have owned both and found the 140 to be significantly faster than the 120, and it tracks better too (I did/do not have a rudder on either boat).

I think the weight between the 140 and the 120 is only like 5 lbs, so not bad.
