Hi there, so I usually fish out of Fogerty creek from my pa14 . Anyone have suggestions on the best place to drop traps close to the launch? I know right of the red buoy in Depo bay is good but a bit of a paddle.
Thanks !

Heading straight out from the beach, you'll start to hit sand bottom at about 40 feet. Seen guys do well dropping traps in the 50-70 foot depths out there.

I'd second Clayman but suggest that you go out farther than 40 ft....i dumped one around that depth earlier this year and it looked like muddy bottom to me. Snails and clay-mud on the trap when I pulled it back. I think north of the launch would also be a good bet.

Thanks for the tips! Last time at 45ft it was a bunch of sea snails so I will try 65 feet next time .

60-70 ft has done well for me around that area.  I have pulled several one pot limits from there.  this is one of two bags i harvested while on a family vacation this year.
