Ch 71 for the next ORC?

All the recent talk about what folks got for Christmas got me motivated. I sold my lump of coal and put it towards the purchase of VHF. I ended up getting a Lowrance LHR-80. I went to Stevens marine and that is the only one they had so I said what the heck. It cost $208 which is 50 cents more than it would have cost through Amazon so I splurged

My MMSI number for it.

I thought you could add it to the list. Plus posting to this thread serves as a reminder to anyone else who got a DSC unit to that there is an NWKA registry that Demonick is managing (if you feel like participating).

Not sure how I missed updating this thread with my digits.

Well Pdx told me about signing up for the MMSI so I was looking up my new radio and it looks like the Icom IC-m-34 does not have the DSC chip. Does anyone know any diffrent? I checked on the internet and my manual and am unable to find anything about a DSC chip. I guess I could call West Marine and ask them tomorrow.

My bad. For some reason I thought you got a standard horizon 851. I think only a few handhelds have DSC at this time. The SH851 and the Lowrance LHR80. Sorry to confuse you.
