As nice as that baked panko is, I gotta say  >:D >:D >:D give me the real deal, deep fried panko crusted rockfish!!!  OK, so my arteries can only take that only so often (ORC!!!) and I resort to the baked panko to give them some relief.

I haven't yet experimented with deep frying but I plan to start. I'm sure a small deep fryer isn't too expensive. The baked version was still crispy and flaky but not nearly as good. I look forward to swapping recipes with the guys at ORC. I'm sure I'll learn a thing or two about deep frying.

Had a deep fryer for a while.  +30lbs to my waistline over a year of ownership.  Let it go at a garage sale for $5.....  Too many good things can be deep fried.....

Looks tasty!  A minute or so under the broiler (after its almost cooked through) will give you some nice GBD tones on the crust.

All you need for a home/camp deep fryer is a 12" Dutch oven and a flame.  You can find them at garage sales on occasion.
