Title: Hello from CA
Post by: jp52 on January 10, 2018, 08:11:34 PM
Hi All,

I live in CA but my wife is from Coos Bay and we make it up there a couple of times a year. I've done a lot of crabbing and clamming in Coos Bay over the years. Many years ago, I lived in Seattle so I somewhat familiar with that area.

I bought three kayaks last year and have gone out with my family for crabs, rockfish and stripers. Hope to bring the kayaks up to Oregon this year for some fishing.

I'm also subscribed to NCKA but hope to get some tips and info here for my Oregon trips.

Cheers,
John

A big welcome and don't be shy about asking questions. There are a few of us in and around Coos Bay and North Bend area.

There is some great fishing in the Coos Bay area.  Sunset Bay is a good place to ocean fish.  You should post up here before heading up.

Don't listen to a word yaksurf says. The only reason we still let him hang around with us is that nobody can top his smoked tri tip.  >:D

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll definitely post before coming up. It would be great to meet some of you.

Sunset Bay is definitely on my list. Been there many times but never fished there.
