63 here, and I plan to drag my carcass out next week and get my yak wet again.  Back and knee issues last year so it will be the first time in quite a while...  With luck, I might even catch something!

First kayak was a 2016 Outback (at age 59) in the summer of 2017. Instantly hooked. Sold my 16ft Klamath and my first boat, a 1987 fiberglass drift boat and NEVER looked back. Upgraded to a 2019 Outback in 2019, which I still have for fishing/cruising with my better half and my son. Also use it for rolling on the way in at PC. In 2021 I picked up an Old Town Autopilot 120 which I absolutely love for any kind of fishing (except launch and land a PC). 66.3 years old at this point and have NO intent on slowing, much less stopping. Gas and a tray of herring is much cheaper than a shrink or a meditation class.

The Mighty Columbia / Re: Tri-Cities in late April - what to chase?
« Last post by jed on April 18, 2024, 01:45:57 PM »
I know they catch nice bass around those islands and up in the Yakima. If you take a little drive to the Columbia you will find really good small mouth fishing. Jim Davis Jimbob84? is out there and Magic Mike smokeyangler is out there too.

The Mighty Columbia / Tri-Cities in late April - what to chase?
« Last post by RoxnDox on April 18, 2024, 01:16:20 PM »
Hi everyone.  My wife has a few days of Continuing Medical Edjamacation in Pasco next week, and I was given a kitchen pass to drag the kayak along to occupy my days.  Is there anything in particular that would be fun and productive to chase?  It would all be catch and release, assuming there’s any ‘catch’ taking place.

Thinking about exploring the islands around the mouth of the Yakima River - would I be in an environment for bass, walleye, panfish, etc?

Any advice and/or local info appreciated, or if anyone else wants to go out.

Jim
