You're talking about the group campsite right?  Usually you can make group site reservations outside of the standard dates they have for the rest of the campground.

I talked live to the reservation 888 number---- they said one would have to go through the campground itself, as the campground told the reservation system to cut it off the 15th of September.

  Who is coordinating the derby??

The "offical" organizer is kykfshr. He has been down in Seaside without internet access for a few days.
Look for the "offical" sign-up in the next few days.We still have 5 weeks to get this together.Should be a great time out in Grays Harbor.I know a lot of Washington guys and Oregon guys too, are looking forward to this fishery.I know I am..... ;) ;) ;) ;)

Jealous!!!!!  That was a hugely productive fishery when I lived in Ocean Shores...when you were allowed to fish it.  We always had a MUCH harder time catching cohos than the Kings for some reason.  Big Beautiful fish.

Although you won't need it because I am sure other boats will be out there but for those who have never fished Grays Harbor and specifically the Johns River area, my advice is to get a Bathymetric chart and study it.  The harbor is really a flooded river estuary.  From a kayak you won't have the luxury of running around in a powerboat looking for the edges of the channels.

Here's a fish from Sept 24...a long time ago...2006...holy outdated picture....I wouldn't count on the weather being this nice though...

Kardinal that has been my experience there also.  Those kings are much more willing to bite than the cohos.

Back to civilization for a couple days.  I have tried to get the group site reserved at twin harbors through the reservation line, by calling the park directly, and stopping by in person. It is available as of right now but it's first come first serve after Sept. 15.  Not the best for planning though.

Today I got a donation of some prizes from the Dennis Company here in Raymond. The manager was very cooperative and responded as soon as I gave him the request for donations.Besides that,he mentioned that he was out with his son last weekend kayaking North River.I don't know if he frequents this site or not,but I certainly invited him to come aboard.
So to add to the pot of prizes for contestants, the Dennis Company donated a couple of Pro Troll SpinRay Flashers and a few Big Al's Fish Flash flashers.
I would ask our members to shop at their stores that are located in Raymond,Aberdeen,Montesano,Elma, and Long Beach,Washington. They have a good selection of gear, reasonable prices, and are located on the way to the coast for those of us fishing out this way. Thanks for the donation Dennis Co.We appreciate your help to make this derby as good as we can make it.

"Look for sign up button on NWKA home page"

I don't see it.  Where is it located on the page?

Looks like fun.

Thanks to Mark Collett for helping round out with prize donations.  Another great local sponsor is Westport Beach Escapes.  They are donating  a 2 night stay in a 2 bedroom ocean front condominium for a prize.

Please bear with us over the sign up button I think Alan has been busy and we are going to try and keep the cost as low as we can.
