Joined the site in 2007 but didn't buy the yak until spring 2011..

Boat:  Cobra F-N-D (fits me and both my kiddos)

Home town: Aloha, OR but moved away after high school to attend college. I've lived and worked in Bend since 1997.

Kiddos: 2... Boy and girl.

Work: public sector...it's a box of chocolates :)

First fish: cuttthroat trout  on a coastal stream.

When I'm not working you'll find me being a dad, casting a fly, shooting my recurve, and chasing all manners of fish and fowl and hooved critters.

P.s.... I'd attach photos but I am IPhone illiterate and can't seem to get beyond the power button ;)

Four years from joining until buying a kayak?  WOW!  There is no looking back now ...

Welcome. Don't feel bad about the 4 "lost" years. Its taken me 2.5 years to outfit my Tarpon. Its almost ready! One of these days, I'm going to spend some time knocking around the Bend and Hood River areas with my fly rods. Still can't get away for long enough, now. Probably next year.

Coneheadmuddler,
Anytime you find yourself in the Bend area with a fly rod, let me know and I'll show you a few places :)

Welcome!

As someone who also joined without owning a kayak, what prompted your purchase of the Cobra vs another type of kayak? I've been researching various types and hope to put in a lot of time by either joining my dad on his Hobie Oasis or by borrowing it (maybe he'll let me?).
