Tempting the weather gods here. Anyone else looking at Saturday out of Fogarty? Might be a bit chilly, but the conditions look fishable.  Thoughts?

I've been looking at it and was about to ask the same question. Don't want to miss one like in December. If conditions hold for Saturday, I'm into it. What are other people's thoughts?

Not gonna hold my breath, since it's sandwiched in between two storm fronts. But I'm watching it!

Looks promising but as Clayman said it is sandwiched between two storms so who knows how it actually materializes. I am looking at the secondary swell of 2.5ft coming from the same direction as primary but with shorter period. Wonder how much it's going to add to the overall wave height.

Tempting, like a mirage in the desert, but a little too cold and fleeting for me. Looking forward to living vicariously. Good luck and stay safe.

Thinking I might do Depoe on Sat.

Was wondering if anyone knew anything about crabbing off of Depoe? I have somewhere between 150-200' of line on my trap, and it's weighted pretty well.
A day without fishing probably wouldn't kill me,
but why risk it?

With temps in the low 20s and little snow melting between now and then, I am guessing I will be stuck in the valley for the weekend.

quite a bit of snow has fallen out here on the coast.   I am at Netarts and have over 6 inches of snow and it is still snowing hard.  Given the forecast for cold temps,  it is likely to not melt any time soon.  I suspect the Coast Range is a mess.

An easy 3-4 inches in Newport this morning. Still looking at a 4-5 ft swell and cold temps on Saturday. I'll probably skip it unless it really flattens out and the temps warm up a bit.

Well ya, if you measure it lengthwise, but how deep is it?
Being retired, they pay me when I go fishing, therefore I am kind of a professional fisherman.

Good point, nobad. You can bet that if it's sticking that deep on a vertical plane....it's too deep to drive. I will be staying home Saturday unless conditions improve.
