I'd like to welcome HOOK1 KayakFishingGear.com/ (http://kayakfishinggear.com/) as a new sponsor of NWKA. In addition to providing gift certs for prizes at ORC and for AOTY. HOOK1 has also generously supplied a discount code for our use, HOOK1NWKA, 15% off purchases, some restrictions may apply. You'll see they have some banner ads at the top too.

No. But I had a grandfather named Robert.

Gotta say that Chad and company put on a heck of an operation. Ordered some items, and they showed up in truly minimal time. In my quest to become a bass master, I added Chad's book to cart. Dude took the time to add some sweet personalization to my purchase. Pretty rad. Highly recommended shop!

That's pretty awesome, I didn't realize that guy was connected to hook1.

Just ordered some stuff from Hook 1. They were very fast and Chris kept me up to date on my order. The prices are good and and the shipping quick.
-
I have some shopping to do, so I had to look up the code. I thought it was worth mentioning that Chad has been a big supporter of HO from the start. You can find cool HOW gear on Hook1 and all the proceeds go to help our injured military personnel discover the stoke of kf. :love4:

My first experience with Hook1 was great. Ordered my items at a reasonable price and received them within a week.
My second order was not. I ordered, and my stuff didn't show up for several weeks, and that was after I sent several emails to customer service.
My third experience was a $200 credit with them for placing second in the Humpy Kayak Classic. After about 5 emails and a few weeks, they finally responded and gave me the credit. I chucked it up to them being busy, spent $130 of the credit for the things I needed at the time, and saved the rest.
My fourth experience is still ongoing. 1 month ago I emailed them because my remaining credit (associated with a code they gave me from the tournament prize) wouldn't work. I emailed them 3 times with no response at all (kayakbassfishing@gmail.com).
Buyer beware.
I've also been informed that they are no longer a provider for Heroes on the Water.

Thanks for the heads up Lee I'm going to place an order with Austin kayaks this weekend and will post the results after shipment received. Recommended by Yaktastic

Jojo-I just received my latest order from Austin, haven't had any issues with any purchases I have made with them. My only complaint is there is never an option to rush ship with them, at least not that I can get to work online.

Since your on the hook I'm glad I upgraded my line to 50 lbs for the salt or you would break it like the ling did.

Also consider KayakFishingSupplies.com for all your rigging needs, located in SoCal, but at least "west coast local".

Twice I've ordered fishing rod holders and have received a different base from what I ordered. The first time the base I ordered was on back order so I had to wait. The second time they straightened it out pretty quickly, and they've always been very friendly. But still, I might consider a different vendor if I needed something quickly.

My telepathy isn't working today, from who was that?

This thread is specifically for hook 1
-
Yes, what Lee said.
-
Bump, just used this today and it worked great!
-
I was just ordering some accessories and the code was rejected and invalid - not invalid for the items, but "NOT A VALID DISCOUNT CODE".
I've left a message asking if there's a problem. I'll let you know when I know more.
UPDATE 01/20/2017:
I did not receive a return phone call from any of the several messages I left, no response to my emails, and the items shipped without receiving the discount promised.
This is my first time purchasing anything from HOOK1 and I won't patronize them again.
-
I just contacted Hook 1 and asked about the NWKA discount and was told that they most likely didn't offer it anymore. I am looking to by a Torqueedo 403 motor kit, so a discount would be nice. They took my email addy and said they would let me know for sure. I will post their response!
-
Still no response from Hook 1.
-
Guess it's time to send our business to someone else if they don't have the decency to at least REPLY to phone messages or emails.
-
that is great, with a bigger yak I have room to add lots of goodies
