I caught a tree!

surf12foot caught another salmon, so he can tell the tale.  It was his fish, dammit...   :BangHead:
I expected the worst, but it was worse than I expected...

Would like to tell a story of high action adventure with dips and turns of suspense but any way that I look back on today I can only come up with one story. It is rather straight forward (thanks to the fish) story so bear with me. The tide was on the drop or should say it had dropped (casting in 2ft. or less water) so between not getting grounded and trying to keep your fly off the(1 1/2 ft. of water now) muddy bottom. Launched a 60 ft. cast and the fly landed and sunk in the swirling out going tide, with 2 head shakes, no place to go and a kayak riding the tide to him at a rapid pace. Time the fish figured what was going on I was on top of him or should say the kayak was on top him, literally the bow ran him over and he head-butted it 4 times. Not thinking at the time but gears started to turn and the lightbulb came on and the brain screaming NET THE #$%& FISH!!!! So as the fish struggled buy the mid section of the kayak and right into the net! Done, over and finished in a matter of 3 minutes or less. So as you can see not really much room for a good story to surface?

At any point in your long, protracted battle with said fish, did anyone cry out "Ramming Speed!!!!!"   ;)

I caught a tree!
Was the tree at least a keeper?  ???

Nope, it was a wild native, and I've already maxed-out on wild trees for 2019.
