Look this over, I'm building one to load mine from the front of the truck with the 5th whl hooked on. seems like it could have lots of applications for people who car top. Go to TKF, Rigging page 5 for the whole setup.

Quite ingenious. Nice, simple design.

I tried building that exact design for my Prius. Didn't work for me as the shape of the car make it to where I had to load from the front. The weight of the yak on the hood was caving the hood in so I scrapped the project and went with the Yakima boat loader. Let me know how this works out for you!

+1 on where to get the orange suction tool?
Water everywhere, but not a drop to drink.

I got mine from Northern Tool for around 12 bucks. It's called a suction dent puller. Art

I saw this two years ago on one of the Florida Kayak fishing pages.  works if the car is shaped the right way where the kayak won't contact the car!

Sweet! That dent puller just saved me a ton of money that I was about to blow on an experimental  SeaSucker mount. Thanks!  :icon_thumright:
