So I'm in the market for a fish finder for my new hobie revo.  I don't need the DSI or any of the new high def imaging.  Where would you mount the screen.  was thinking of buying a ram mount and mounting it on the side of the boat since the revo doesn't have much room on the deck.
thanks in advance.

Cuda 350....  Reliable unit.  I have had zero issues finding structure and fish with this unit.  Used for a couple years now on my revo off of a 1" ram ball mount.

Good luck!

Di they still sell the cuda? I believe it was replaced my the lowrance mark 4, and you should come in a about 100 under budget with that model.  I've got the dsi model and although i wouldn't pay extra for the dsi I like the model okay. Just goop the slot on the bottom for the SD card. It's very nice to have the GPS feature.

I think the mark 4 or 5 is going to be it.
Now i have to find the right place to mount it.

Yup, ball mounts are good. Depending on the type of fishing you do you might want to consider mounting it within arms length. If using it for navigation or to mark a way point while peddling or fishing it's good to have it close. Mine is actually on a ball mount zip tied to my rod holder. I also have a revo.

I've been happy with the Hummingbird PirhanaMAX 160.  $100.  Works down to 500 ft plus even shooting through the hull.  Definitely plain jane but gives me all the info I need and the compact size works well in a kayak.

I have gotten lucky at Cabela's in the bargain cave for fish finders. They usually have a handful ranging from cheap to top of the line.

Well i bought a mark 5x and ordered the ram mount for it.  Planning to install it on the right hand side above the rudder release.  Hope i dont mess up the the rudder line.

Make sure you plan your mounts such that in the case you fall out you have a clear path to get back on.
