Oh man, I miss Walking-Man Brewery...
Gotta love their Homo Erectus imperial IPA
Greetings Brian.
I joined to let you know there are more of us lurking out there. I'm in Lake Oswego (along with a few others too..) and I appreciate the posts you make.
What a great sport this is. I bought my Hobie Outback SUV last spring because I needed more of 1) fishing and 2) exercise. I've fished mostly for lingcod - both Oregon coast and San Juan islands. Some crabbing. Some salmon. But last week I anchored in the Willy and caught 3 shaker Sturgeon in a couple of hours. Lost even more. That is now my favorite target.
So if you see a yellow Hobie near George Rodgers this weekend, shout out.
Andrew

Just registered today. Mainly a trout, bass guy. Willing to learn the bigger fish stuff!
Welcome Knobby,
I live a couple miles away at most in the Woodstock neighborhood. I like bass and trout also, but it sounds like we'll have to work on getting you into some of the "bigger fish stuff".
Brian
Torn between getting a fish finder and a drysuit at this point.
When does everyone start getting out? Are there any set paddles times during the week when everyone that can make it meets to fish?
I don't think we have met. I've talked with several people at the boat ramp but they were more interested in the fact that I was fishing from a kayak. I've had no conversations with other kayak anglers in person. I'd like to though!!
When you get your cold water groove on, hit me up. The Gilbert River boat ramp has been berry berry good to me! I can't wait to start trolling for Springers there!!!!
Hello everybody...I'm new to the site and I'm new to kayaking.
I live in Mt. Angel which is about 30-35 minutes from Portland. I just bought a sand colored, 2009 OK Trident 13 Angler. Can't wait to meet some fellow kayak anglers!
My name is Chris btw.
Hey Brian,
Might be time for that PDX area meet and greet we talked about last year.

Sounds good to me. Any ideas about a location?
One the water at Hagg Lake? Or maybe just lunch/happy hour someplace?
Brian
BTW, in case some of you haven't noticed. I'm actually keeping a list on the first page of this thread.

Howdy,
Just found this board, and about to start putting money down on a Mirage Revo.
Madoc is both my handle and my real name, SE PDX/Woodstock, planning on having a green Revo.

my moniker is codeman, my name is Cody. Been trying to get a yak for a couple of years, almost there. I live in Saint Helens and would love to able to get together with you guys and talk your ear off. I've done tons of research, but first hand knowledge would be sooo much better. Please add me to the list. I look forward to meeting you guys!! Not sure yet if im ganna get my smaller yak in the 11 ft range for lakes / res thats fast and manuverable, or get my ocean yak in the 13 or 14 ft range thats wider and more stable. Both are wanted, i guess the first best deal i come across.
BEEF- names Jared, I live in Beaverton. I paddle a sandy green Hobie Revolution. Most of my fishing takes place on Wednesdays and Thursdays right now. Im always up to paddle, or in my case pedal drive, with another buddy. Safty first!
haha! Thanks Spot! I was hopping to put some more fish on the board today. I just got back from Coos Bay area but no fish to report. :'( It was my first time out there and off shore so it was more of a scouting trip. Fun time on the water though! Like the saying goes a bad day of fishing beats a good day a work. ;DI fish CB a lot. Let me know next time you want to try it. Maybe I could show you around a little.

Hi all,
We just moved here from C.t. in July. We are lovin the weather, but I can't fish till the new year. (too cheap to pay nonres. fees) I have been yak fishing for 8yrs, mostly striped bass, bluefish, weakfish, and fluke. I have an older T160 and Prowler13. Looking forward to a new playground in the NW.
Swampyankee, welcome to the Portland. I just moved here from Boston 3 months ago. The techniques are a bit different, but these are good guys and will happily show you the ropes. If you ever get home sick let me know and I will happily head out to drag a T&W or toss some Hogys and Sluggos.
Mods, Can you split this topic off. How did they get mixed up? Did BV hit reply and change the subject?I merged the topic as it seems to be the official intro page for OR.

Hey Zach, welcome to the party. There are a lot of us in the SW Portland/Beaverton area.
Old Market Pub ends up being a popular meeting place, as three of us live within a half mile of there. It's been awhile since we've had a meet up, but maybe it's about time we get that going again. The best up coming event will be the Springer Clinic,Hey Zach, welcome to the party. There are a lot of us in the SW Portland/Beaverton area.
Thank you! Where do you guys meet up and how often? Look forward to fishing with some fellow kayakers!
I will be doing my best to make it to the Springer clinic and am excited to learn some techniques. I have not been to old town in a while. I look forward to meeting some members.Do what you can to make it. Spot is a Springer Guru.
